Why & How?

  • Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Manitoba supports the health and well-being of children receiving medical care by providing essential services and a home away from home for their families.
  • Since 1984, we've proudly served all paediatric medical disciplines, including high-risk pregnancies and premature babies with welcoming accommodations, meals, parking, transportation, laundry facilities, compassionate staff, and caring volunteers. These are just some of the ways RMHC Manitoba helps hundreds of families each year find comfort.

  • RMHC Manitoba is an organization that keeps families together. We operate through our two core programs, Ronald McDonald House and Ronald McDonald Family Room.
  • Ronald McDonald House, on 62 Juno Street in Winnipeg, is a home away from home for rural Manitoban and out-of-province families with a child requiring treatment at a nearby hospital. The program operates for families 24/7, 365 days a year. The House is a warm, supportive, and welcoming space where families can stay close, be together, and connect with each other in a compassionate and supportive environment.
  • Ronald McDonald Family Room is a home within the hospital for any family with a pediatric patient. Open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day of the week, 365 days a year, this space offers comfort and care for families within HSC Children’s Hospital. Three sleeping rooms offer overnight accommodations for families of children in critical situations. Our common areas offer space for moments of respite, rest, and reflection.
  • In September 2022, RMHC Manitoba opened its new Ronald McDonald House program. The new House brought a 186% increase in mission delivery, growing from 11,000 sq. ft. to 60,000 sq. ft, and from 14 to 40 bedrooms.
  • In 2024, RMHC Manitoba is celebrating 40 years of keeping families together when and when it’s needed most.
